5 ‘ x 5’

plastic tarp, steel bars, assorted bath and body products

Unpacking and reforming the body and cosmetic product materials with thin plastic sheets, Kendall Sommers explores how the materiality of products can change form when interacting with the body and give new meaning to the things we consume regularly. The plastic material in this project forms a skin for the products, making a new body for the substance to be held by. In that, it shows the way our bodies hold these products as well, positioning us as a form of vessel or packaging.
